I was awakened this morning to my son calling "Mommy! Where are you?" Something he picked up from his cousin. ;) I was still only half awake, so I did not respond right away. Next I hear "Mommy, I love you! I love you, Mommy!" Had to smile. May have been a bit early for me, but what a great way to be woken up.
While eating his breakfast my buddy asks "Where's Daddy?" Another question he picked up from his cousin that he now asks almost every morning. My response "Daddy's at work." His usual response is "Daddy at work?" But not today! Today he responds with "No, Mommy!" So I say "No? Then where is Daddy?" Buddy: "Playing!" Lol! All right, Daddy, the gigs up!

Is That Loud?
Boys are noisier than girls; at least in our house. So, I feel like I am constantly asking Buddy to tone down the volume. Perhaps it's not just a feeling, as lately he seems to be trying to pin point exactly what "loud" is. He will make a loud sound by yelling or banging something together then turn to me and say "That loud?" He will also ask this if he hears a loud noise from another source. Does he try to be more quiet when he finds that indeed I find the sounds he makes to be loud, you ask. Why of course not; he repeats them because he's a boy and LOUD is FUN! ;)
Me Too!
While cleaning up, Ms. Moogle bumped her knee and wanted an ice pack. I get her an ice pack and she sits to ice her knee. Little buddy sees this and asks sister for the ice pack. Sister's reply is "No, I have an owie! You don't!" So, buddy proceeds to pick up the toy cash register and throw it down onto his own foot. He then goes over to sister pointing to his foot "Owie, sister - have ice pack?"
Halloween
My little monkey and Ariel had a great Halloween! This was the monkey's first time trick or treating and he caught on quickly! At first he would not say a word, but by the end of the night he was saying "trick treat!" "Thank you!" and "Happy Halloween!" We even got to go around with some of the big girls for a while. They knew all the good houses to hit! We headed home after going out with the big girls only for both kids to beg to go back out again. So, out we went. Ariel got a lot of compliments on her costume and even got a special prize for "best costume" at one house! Loved seeing the kids have so much fun - they are growing up so fast!

Yes and No
Buddy has reached the "No phase" where every answer is "No!". One night a week or so back he got going on a string of "No!"s. So, I asked him "Can you say anything but no?" "No!" "Can you say yes?" "No!" "Can you say no?" He freezes with this "processing, processing..." look on his face, then giving a sly little smile NODS his head yes. It was hilarious (though I admit I was very surprised - smart little bugger)!
How a warrior princess is born
My daughter came to me today fully garbed in Cinderella gear "Mom, how did Cinderella's daddy die?" I've let her watch Ever After with me before, so we talked about how this showed Cinderella's daddy having a heart attack, but she wasn't too convinced. "How did Cinderella's mommy die?" This one I really don't know, so I said so. After some thought, Little Girl decides "Cinderella's mommy and daddy were killed by bad people. I don't want my mommy and daddy to be killed by bad people, so I am learning to fight bad people! My princess friends are coming over and we are going to practice fighting bad people with the sword (imaginary - we don't even have a pretend sword) I got for my birthday." I nod my head and think to myself - and thus a warrior princess is born! ;)

Potty Time
My little buddy has started showing interest in using the potty - awesome! So, tonight, I take off his diaper to change it before bed and he jumps up saying "potty!" and runs off to the bathroom. He proceeds to sit on the potty and pee..... all over the floor. I get there just in time to see him sitting on the potty splashing his bare feet in his newly created puddle with a big grin on his face. Lol! Oh the joys of potty training a boy!
